Candy Christmas Trees

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while now.  I kept buying all the stuff to make it but using (eating) up all the sweets before I had chance!

Then on Christmas Eve I thought why not set it up as an activity.

You will need *for six trees

Ice cream cones

60g margerine

125g icing sugar

Drop of vanilla extract

Green food colouring paste

Selection of small sweets and sprinkles

Method

  • Whisk the margerine until the colour pales
  • Add the icing sugar and whisk until smooth and pale – about 2 minutes
  • Add the vanilla and a little food colouring and whisk again
  • Smooth buttercream on to the cones and decorate with sweets and sprinkles

  • If you can’t find small enough sweets, you can always cut up larger ones like I’ve done with these

Dorothy, Beth and even Phill enjoyed making these.  Look how proud Dots is!

It was just a little activity to keep them busy but I actually think they’d make a lovely addition to a Christmas buffet table.

Love Rachel 🎄
